Senior SAP Tax Specialist

Project: Brazil Localization (S/4HANA)
Contract: 6‑month contract + extension
Start: Immediate / ASAP
Work Model: Hybrid - 3 days on‑site / 2 days remote
Overview
We are seeking a Senior SAP Tax Specialist to lead the tax workstream for a major SAP S/4HANA implementation at a large multinational organisation within the consumer / retail sector in Brazil.
This role acts as the technical and strategic reference for Brazilian taxation, ensuring that complex local tax requirements are fully compliant and seamlessly integrated into global SAP processes. The consultant will also contribute to innovation initiatives, including the use of AI‑enabled tools in tax automation and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement Brazil Localization solutions covering direct and indirect taxes, ensuring end‑to‑end compliance and process integrity.
- Configure and optimise TAXBRA and/or partner tax engines (e.g. Thomson Reuters / ONESOURCE where applicable).
- Ensure compliance with ICMS, IPI, PIS, COFINS, ISS and withholding tax requirements.
- Lead integration between SAP Tax and MM, SD, FI and Logistics processes.
- Translate Brazilian legal and fiscal changes into clear SAP system requirements.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT stakeholders on Brazilian tax strategy within SAP.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA and New General Ledger / Universal Journal in a tax context.
- Hands‑on experience with Condition‑Based Tax (CBT) and Exception / Pivot Table mapping.
- Experience with TDF (Tax Declaration Framework) and/or ACR (Advanced Compliance Reporting).
- Solid knowledge of SPED Fiscal, SPED Contributions and EFD‑REINF.
- Experience with tax‑relevant supplier and material master data sanitisation.
- Ability to leverage AI‑based tools or coding assistants to accelerate tax rule mapping and data analysis.
