We are supporting a leading banking client in scaling their Risk, Derivatives & Collateral Management platform. They are seeking a Senior Software Architect to drive architecture, modernisation, and engineering excellence across a complex, business-critical environment.

This is a long-term engagement with strong extension potential, working within a high-performing, distributed engineering team.

Role Overview

The Software Architect will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture and technical direction of systems supporting risk, derivatives, and collateral management functions.

You will work closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and evolve architecture strategy across risk and trading systems
• Design and implement scalable microservices-based solutions
• Drive adoption of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and best practices
• Lead full-stack development across .NET and Angular environments
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to optimise CI/CD pipelines and automation
• Ensure code quality through TDD, BDD, and static analysis tools
• Integrate and guide usage of AI/GenAI capabilities within development workflows
• Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence

Core Requirements

• Strong experience within Risk, Derivatives & Collateral Management (Banking)
• Extensive background as a Software Architect or Senior Engineer
• Expertise in:
  • .NET (full stack)
  • Angular
  • Domain Architecture & Design Patterns
  • Microservices Architecture & DDD
• SolidDevOps experience including:
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Azure DevOps (ADO) & GitHub Enterprise Cloud (GHEC)
• Strong experience with:
  • MSSQL & Data Warehousing
  • PowerShell scripting
• Experience with:
  • TDD / BDD methodologies
  • SonarQube or similar tools

Nice to Have

• Experience with:
  • GenAI / AI-assisted development (Code AI, MCP, etc.)
• Exposure to modern AI-driven engineering practices
• Previous experience in large-scale banking transformation programmes
